The Mantis Kung Fu Academy is a family orientated mantis kung fu school. The Black Mantis logo is unique to Sifu Matthew Hansen's training system. We cater for anyone who is interested in learning a traditional, yet modern, fighting and self defence mantis kung fu style.
Our instructors are AKWF and MAIA accredited. All instructors have current first aid certificates and Blue Cards.
At our academy, you are able to suit your training requirements to your own needs. You can join our regular Mantis Kung Fu classes in a group scenario or engage in a private lesson, either at our academy, in the privacy of your own home or at your favourite park or beach.

All lessons are held in a safe and regulated training environment, overseen by Sifu Matthew Hansen or a high level senior mantis kung fu instructor.

                                                                                                                                                                                                


                                                   New School Opening

It is with great pleasure that we formally announce the Grand opening of our new Academy branch at Tweed Heads

The Tweed branch will be run by high level instructors overseen by Sifu Matthew Hansen. This is an exciting event for the Academy which will allow us to expand the Black mantis Academy and the Mantis Kung Fu training system.
The opportunity now exists for people in the Tweed /Coolangatta area and south to come along and experience Mantis Kung Fu with regular training nights and high level instructors.

Thanks to eveyone at Kung Fu , especially Sifu and all the other teachers whom dedicate there time and knowledge at the Mantis Kung Fu Academy. Iysis has enjoyed attending Kung Fu and learning new things. As a parent I have felt completely welcome and have found all the teachers and students extremely respectful to myself and each other. Iysis has made new relationships and loves 2 share his new experiences with us at home. It has boosted his confidence and improved his focus. I find the Academy extremely organised, proffesional and a happy enviroment for my son.

Each year the Mantis Kung Fu Academy provide several Gold Coast Lion Dancing teams to perform at restaurants around the coast and northern NSW.  The Chinese Lion Dance is an event not to be missed and Gold Coast restaurants can make a booking by contacting Sifu Matthew Hansen.

Your first month of training is absolutely free and there is no obligation to continue if you feel our art isn't for you. However we believe you will enjoy yourself and have so much fun, you will want to continue on.
